Big Wood Lake Association is an organization of Big Wood Lake property owners dedicated to the environmental preservation of the lake and providing a social network for its members. The association was formally established in 1988. Big Wood Lake is located about six miles outside of Grantsburg, Wisconsin. The lake covers approximately 525 acres with a very irregular shoreline of over eight miles. The association is a leader in pursuing positive management practices designed to protect and preserve some of natures most spectacular habitat. The association has a membership rate of over 70% which far exceeds the state wide average. A formal Aquatic Plant Management Plan is in place and the lake is physically monitored on a regular basis.
